Los Angeles -- Comedians, athletes, tattoo artists, and musicians have all doffed their duds and revealed their tattoos—and in some cases, a lot more—for PETA's "Ink, Not Mink" anti-fur campaign. And now, for the first time, PETA has put together more than a dozen of the hottest ads in the series for a new feature on PETA.org, which debuts here.
"Stars such as Tommy Lee and Dave Navarro know that there's nothing sexy about wearing someone else's dead skin," says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. "Whether you're a world-renowned tattoo artist, an NBA player, or a regular Joe or Jane, you can help animals simply by keeping fur out of your wardrobe."
Tattoo artists featured in PETA's campaign include Ami James and Mario Barth. Musicians such as Waka Flocka Flame, Dave Navarro, Tommy Lee, Duff McKagan, and Chester Bennington have also participated in the series as have athletes Dennis Rodman, Chris Andersen, Amar'e Stoudemire, Chad Ochocinco, and many more.
Why are stars lining up to speak out against fur? For every coat, collar, or cuff made from fur, animals suffer immensely. Every year, millions of foxes, minks, and rabbits—even cats and dogs—are beaten, electrocuted, and strangled for their pelts. Many are skinned alive.
