Los Angeles -- Decked out in camouflage bikinis and armed with "ammunition" belts loaded with fresh carrots, a pair of PETA patrolwomen will stand outside the E3 gaming expo on Tuesday with signs that read, "Battle Obesity: Go Vegan," and stacks of free vegan recipes for gamers who want to level up their health and KO their risk of obesity—an affliction that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has found is more common in the gaming community.
When: Tuesday, June 5, 12 noon
Where: Outside the Los Angeles Convention Center, 1201 S. Figueroa St. (near S. Hall Drive), Los Angeles
"PETA wants gamers to know that if they're looking for an extra life, the best thing that they can do is go vegan," says PETA's Hayden Hamilton. "Not only are vegans significantly leaner than meat-eaters are on average, they also have a lower risk of heart disease, strokes, diabetes, and cancer."
