New Haven, CT -- In the wake of the recent spate of incidents of cannibalism—one of which occurred last week in New Haven—a PETA supporter in full zombie regalia will chow down on simulated human body parts on a picnic blanket in front of New Haven's Carmen Anthony Steakhouse on Tuesday. Surrounded by signs that read, "Flesh Is Flesh—Go Vegan," the "undead" PETA supporter will remind the lunch crowd that factory-farmed animals have the same bodily organs and the same ability to feel pain and fear that humans do—and that none of us wants to be killed and eaten.
When: Tuesday, June 12, 12 noon
Where: In front of Carmen Anthony Steakhouse, near the intersection of Audobon and State streets, New Haven
"Anyone who is horrified by the thought of eating someone else's flesh should take a second look at his or her own dinner plate," says PETA Executive Vice President Tracy Reiman. "PETA is urging everyone to fight senseless violence by choosing healthy, humane vegan meals."
