New York --  Wearing little more than bodypaint, five sexy PETA members painted like pythons will slither outside Lincoln Center on Friday with signs that read, "Don't Kill Us for Our Skin." The bodypainted beauties will encourage passersby—including the models, designers, and shoppers in town for New York Fashion Week—to leave wildlife out of their wardrobes.

When:   Friday, September 6, 12:30 p.m.
Where:  10 Lincoln Center Plz. (near the intersection of W. 63rd Street and Columbus Avenue), New York

"I'll gladly bare my skin to help snakes keep theirs," says PETA "python" Crystina Rodriguez. "Fashion Week is the perfect time to explore new trends—and thanks to designers like Stella McCartney, cruelty-free fake snake is hotter than ever."

McCartney's faux-snakeskin designs have won the hearts of celebrities and everyday shoppers alike, and top retailers that steer clear of exotic skins include Topshop, Ann Taylor, Adidas, H&M, Victoria's Secret, and more. And for good reason: As PETA's shocking exposé, narrated by Joaquin Phoenix, reveals, reptiles die slow, agonizing deaths before they're turned into crocodile backpacks and python pumps.
