San Francisco — Grabbing first-place honors in PETA's 10th annual ranking of the Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Ballparks is AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants. The ballpark broke into the first-place position by offering fans a stellar lineup of meat-free options. In addition to the venerable veggie dogs and burgers, AT&T Park hits it over the wall by serving up portobello mushroom sandwiches, veggie sushi, Asian noodles with vegetables, and meatless burritos. After earning an honorable mention last year, Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, home of Oakland Athletics, has placed sixth in this year's rankings. Oakland's lineup of delicious options includes veggie dogs, black-bean burgers, veggie burrito bowls, portobello sliders, tangy hummus, fresh-cut fruit, and salads.

"For many Giants fans, the only thing sweeter than a World Series championship is knowing that no animals had to suffer for a tasty ballpark meal," says PETA Associate Director Chris Holbein. "And with so many great animal- and health-friendly vegetarian options available, eating smart while cheering on the Giants and the A's has never been easier."

After four straight years of taking top honors, Philadelphia Phillies' Citizens Bank Park has slipped to an honorable second-place finish this year. Rounding out the top 10 are Comerica Park (Detroit Tigers), Turner Field (Atlanta Braves), Coors Field (Colorado Rockies), Angel Stadium (Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim), Minute Maid Park (Houston Astros), PETCO Park (San Diego Padres), and Miller Park (Milwaukee Brewers).

Top athletes, including slugger Prince Fielder, MMA fighter Jake Shields, NBA legend John Salley, NFL running back Ricky Williams, and Olympic great Carl Lewis, look to meatless meals to boost their health and help stop cruelty to animals. And a trip to ballpark concession stands confirms that many fans are getting the message too.

Each team on the Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Ballparks list will receive a framed certificate from PETA. For more information and to see the complete list of winners, please click here.
