Montréal-- Holding signs that read, "Donna: Bring Out Your Dead," and wearing Grim Reaper costumes, several PETA members will descend on Donna Karan's store in Montréal on Monday as part of a protest against the fashion designer's use of fur. Other PETA members will screen video footage from undercover investigations of Chinese fur farms and hand out leaflets explaining why buying and wearing any fur supports one of the most ghoulish industries on the planet.

Where:   Donna Karan, Holt Renfrew, 1300 Rue Sherbrooke Ouest (near the intersection of Rue Sherbrooke Ouest and Rue de la Montagne), Montréal

When:   Tuesday, March 8, 12 noon

"Even the Grim Reaper has nothing on Donna Karan when it comes to terror and death," says PETA President Ingrid E. Newkirk. "To satisfy the whims of fashion, Donna Karan is sentencing countless rabbits—who are among the gentlest animals on Earth—to a horrific life and a violent death in China."

Donna Karan sources rabbit fur from China. Undercover investigations have revealed horrendous conditions on Chinese fur farms. Video footage of a Chinese fur farm shows that workers pulled rabbits out of cages by their ears and stunned the screaming animals with electrical devices. Rabbits watched as other animals had their throats cut and their heads and paws cut off with knives before the skin was peeled off their bodies.

Many top fashion designers—including Calvin Klein, Stella McCartney, Ralph Lauren, and Tommy Hilfiger—are 100 percent fur-free.
