Hamilton, Ontario -- Scantily clad in sexy uniforms, knee-high boots, and police hats and holding signs that read, "Animal Skins Are a Fashion Felony," PETA's pair of sexy "fashion police" will be at Jackson Square in Hamilton on Tuesday. They will give leather-, fur-, and wool-wearers "citation tickets" for "violating the code of common decency."
When: Tuesday, November 1, 12 noon
Where: Jackson Square, northwest corner of King and James streets, Hamilton
What's wrong with leather, fur, and wool? Animals killed to make clothing are mutilated, treated like unfeeling machines, and denied everything that is natural and important to them on factory farms and in slaughterhouses. Making clothing from animal skins or wool causes great suffering that can be avoided simply by choosing from the many fashionable alternatives.
"I'll gladly bare some of my skin if it will help save animals' skins," says sultry "cop" Emily Lavender. "With all the luxurious alternatives available, there's absolutely no excuse for wearing animal skins."
