Los Angeles -- Whether it's including pro-vegan literature in all merchandise orders or always making room for animal activists on tours, Fearless Records, Fueled By Ramen, No Sleep Records, and Equal Vision Records all go the extra mile to promote animal-friendly attitudes—and that's why they're all up for the Libby Award for Most Animal-Friendly Record Label from peta2, PETA's youth division. The sixth annual Libby Awards ("Libby" is for "liberation") honor animal-friendly people and products.

Longtime peta2 friend Fearless Records often includes peta2 on its annual Fearless Friends Tour, and it is home to a number of peta2 pals, including last year's Libby Award winner for Breakthrough Artist, Pierce The Veil. Fueled By Ramen is also home to many animal-friendly rockers, including The Swellers, A Rocket To The Moon, and peta2 Sexiest Vegetarian winner Gabe Saporta of Cobra Starship.

No Sleep Records owner Chris Hansen is vegan, and he includes "Go Vegan" peta2 literature in every piece of mail sent from the No Sleep webstore. The label recently collaborated with peta2 on a free downloads sampler featuring bands La Dispute, Balance and Composure, and more. A constant Libby contender, Equal Vision Records is home to supportive acts—including Chiodos and The Dear & Departed—and they're always on board to speak up for animals.

"For animal-friendly artists and their fans, these record labels top the charts," says peta2 Division Manager Marta Holmberg. "We're proud to honor these industry leaders, and we hope that more musicians will be compelled to follow in their compassionate footsteps."

Twenty-nine Libby Awards will be given out this year, recognizing the most animal-friendly band, peta2's favorite breakthrough artist, the top animal-friendly celebrity, and more. Voting ends on December 23, and the winners will be announced on January 17. The winners will be chosen by peta2 based on equal consideration of three factors: the number of votes received, the quality of the animal-friendly product or the nominees' enthusiasm for being animal-friendly, and feedback from the nominees' fans.

Each winner will receive a framed certificate and be featured on peta2.com.
