Sunny Vibrations Food Truck and Gracias Madre Restaurant Feed the Growing Demand for Healthy, Humane,and Delicious Vegan Options

San Francisco -- A San Francisco–based vegan food truck and a vegan Mexican restaurant have been named as finalists for Libby Awards by peta2, PETA's youth division. The sixth annual Libby Awards ("Libby" is for "liberation") honor animal-friendly people and products. Visitors to peta2.com can vote for their favorites in each category, and peta2 will choose the winners:
- Best West Coast Food Truck or Cart: Sunny Vibrations
Everything served from the cheerfully decorated Sunny Vibrations food truck is vegan. Specialties include pizza burgers, spicy quesadillas, mock tuna salad wrap, and fresh juices. Sunny Vibrations operates on solar power and even has a live camera so that customers can watch as their dishes are prepared.
- Best Local Restaurant: Gracias Madre
Gracias Madre is 100 percent vegan and 100 percent organic. Favorites include enchiladas con mole, tamales, tacos, and the restaurant's signature potatoes with nondairy nacho cheese. The restaurant's name—which translates as "Thank you, Mother"—pays tribute to all mothers "who nurture and feed us in so many ways," which "includes of course, our Mother Earth."
"Sunny Vibrations and Gracias Madre show how foodies can indulge themselves without harming animals or their own health," says peta2 Division Manager Marta Holmberg. "More and more people are demanding vegan options, and these two businesses are responding in the most delicious ways imaginable."
Twenty-nine Libby Awards will be given out this year, recognizing everything from the best cruelty-free cosmetics company to Street Teamer of the Year to peta2's favorite animal-friendly celebrity. Each winner will receive a framed certificate and be featured on peta2.com.

Voting ends on December 23, and the winners will be announced on January 17. The winners will be chosen by peta2 based on equal consideration of three factors: the number of votes received, the quality of the animal-friendly product or the nominees' enthusiasm for being animal-friendly, and feedback from the nominees' fans.
