Providence, R.I. -- Thanks to its sweet treats that are also a sweet deal for animals, Providence-based food truck Like No Udder has just been named as a finalist for a Libby Award for Favorite East Coast Food Truck or Cart by peta2, PETA's youth division. The sixth annual Libby Awards ("Libby" is for "liberation") honor animal-friendly people and products. Visitors to peta2.com can vote for their favorites in each category, and peta2 will choose the winners.

"Like No Udder's soft-serve is guaranteed to put a smile on your face—and on the faces of the cows who were spared abuse in its production," says peta2 Division Manager Marta Holmberg. "We give all our food-truck nominees five big honks for making products that are as kind and healthy as they are delicious."

According to its website, Like No Udder is the world's first all-vegan soft-serve ice cream truck. Favorites include the chocolate-peanut butter shake, the root beer float, and the vegan soft-serve in vanilla or chocolate with a choice of toppings. A variety of shakes, floats, slushies, and candy bars are also available. Like No Udder even offers savory items, such as vegan meatball subs and veggie dogs, during festivals and other special events.

Twenty-nine Libby Awards will be given out this year, recognizing everything from the most vegan-friendly restaurant chain to the best cruelty-free cosmetics company to peta2's favorite animal-friendly celebrity. Each winner will receive a framed certificate and be featured on peta2.com.

For more information about all the nominees, please visit peta2.com.

Voting ends on December 23, and the winners will be announced on January 17. The winners will be chosen by peta2 based on equal consideration of three factors: the number of votes received, the quality of the animal-friendly product or the nominees' enthusiasm for being animal-friendly, and feedback from the nominees' fans.
