Norfolk, Va. -- The market for cruelty-free bath and beauty products is exploding—and four companies that offer a wide selection of products that weren't tested on animals or contain animal ingredients have won kudos from peta2, PETA's youth division. The award is part of the sixth annual Libby Awards ("Libby" is for "liberation"), which honor animal-friendly people and products.

Urban Decay won the award for Best Cruelty-Free Cosmetics Company because of  its wide selection of all-vegan lipstick, lip gloss, makeup brushes, eye shadow, and mascara—and all of its vegan products are marked with a purple paw print. Crazy Rumors' all-natural, vegan lip balm—which is available in a variety of fun flavors such as mocha, Earl Grey, root beer, and more—took home the Libby for Best Vegan Cosmetics Product. The award for Best Cruelty-Free Hair Product went to Yes To for its plant-based moisturizing Carrots Shampoo and Carrots Conditioner, and Lush landed the Libby for Best Vegan Bath and Body Product for its relaxing, sparkly Twilight Bath Bomb.

"From the shower to the makeup table, Urban Decay, Crazy Rumors, Yes To, and Lush make it easy to pamper yourself and be kind to animals," says peta2 Division Manager Marta Holmberg. "These top-quality retailers—all of whom refuse to test their products on animals—prove that beauty doesn't have to have an ugly side."

Other nominees in these categories included Alba Botanica, Almay, Dr. Bronner's, e.l.f., Manic Panic, OPI, and stila. Twenty-nine Libby Awards will be given out this year, recognizing everything from the best cruelty-free accessory to peta2's favorite animal-friendly celebrity. Each winner will receive a framed certificate and be featured on peta2.com.

Winners were chosen by peta2 based on equal consideration of three factors: the number of votes received, the quality of the animal-friendly product or the nominees' enthusiasm for being animal-friendly, and feedback from the nominees' fans.
