BBQ Veggie 'Pit Beef' and Vegan Chicken Steak Thrust Citizens Bank Park Back Atop the Pack

Philadelphia -- Today's baseball stadiums offer an ever-increasing array of healthy and delicious vegetarian food choices. So, for the 11th straight year, PETA has ranked the Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Ballparks. Citizens Bank Park has recaptured first place after being bumped last year after a four-year reign at the top.
"With PETA pal Chase Utley back from the disabled list and Citizens Bank Park back on top of PETA's list of vegetarian-friendly stadiums, things are starting to look up for Phillies fans," says PETA Associate Director Chris Holbein.
Leading off the vegetarian lineup at Citizens Bank Park is the meatless "Pit Beef" slathered with barbecue sauce. Other big hits include the vegan chicken steak, veggie panini, faux-chicken patty sandwich, Italian veggie grinder, vegetarian hot dog, and black-bean burger.
Climbing all the way to second place after receiving only an honorable mention last year is Safeco Field, home of the Seattle Mariners. Vegan specialties include the IchiBan veggie dog with teriyaki-glazed onions, grated daikon and carrot, shredded nori, and creamy vegan dressing; the Seattle chili veggie dog with vegan cream cheese; pasta with vegetables; and tangy hummus. Rounding out the top five are the Detroit Tigers' Comerica Park, the Oakland A's O.co Coliseum, and the Los Angeles Dodgers' Dodger Stadium. Hammond Stadium, home of the Fort Myers Miracle, took top honors in the minor leagues.
