Miami -- Holding signs that read, "Fur Is Butt Ugly" and "Fur Is a Bad Asset," PETA members will confront Kim Kardashian as she arrives for a promotional event at Aventura Mall on Saturday. PETA has targeted Kardashian for her obsession with wearing fur.
When: Saturday, May 14, 1 p.m.
Where: Entrance to Aventura Mall, 19689 Biscayne Bld., Miami
"Kim needs to take a cue from her sister Khloe, who has spoken out against the rampant cruelty in the fur trade and starred in her own PETA campaign," says PETA Vice President Lisa Lange.
Animals trapped in the wild can suffer for days before they're shot, stomped on, or bludgeoned to death. Foxes, minks, rabbits, and other animals on fur farms are confined to tiny, filth-encrusted wire cages in which they are exposed to all weather extremes. The animals are then poisoned, gassed, injected with weedkiller, anally electrocuted, or—as often happens—skinned alive and tossed aside to endure a slow, agonizing death.
