Toronto -- Toronto resident Chelsea Dunstall is kicking off her college semester at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario, with a special honour from peta2, PETA's youth division: the Libby Award for Female Street Teamer of the Year. The sixth annual Libby Awards ("Libby" is for "liberation") honour animal-friendly people and products, and Dunstall—who campaigned against the Canadian seal slaughter—won out over her fellow finalists from Chicago and Mesquite and McAllen, Texas.

"Whether she's at a concert or on Facebook, Chelsea Dunstall never stops encouraging her peers to have compassion for animals," says peta2 Division Manager Marta Holmberg. "Her dedication and positive attitude set an example that youth activists around the world can follow."

Dunstall has been a guest blogger on peta2's website and a member of peta2's Youth Advisory Board and has tabled for peta2 at four Silverstein concerts! She also interned at PETA last year, traveling to colleges across the U.S. to spread the word about animal rights.

The Male Street Teamer of the Year winner, Jordan Turner, lives in Wisconsin. Twenty-nine Libby Awards will be given out this year, recognizing everything from the best cruelty-free cosmetics company to peta2's favourite animal-friendly celebrity. Each winner will receive a framed certificate and be featured on peta2.com.

For more information about the winners, please visit peta2.com.

Winners were chosen by peta2 based on equal consideration of three factors: the number of votes received, the quality of the animal-friendly product or the nominees' enthusiasm for being animal-friendly, and feedback from the nominees' fans.
