Veggie Hot Dogs and Vegan Pasta Salad Thrust the Home of the Wilmington Blue Rocks Into a Top Spot

Wilmington, Del. -- Today's baseball stadiums offer an ever-increasing array of healthy and delicious vegetarian food choices. So, for the sixth straight year, PETA has ranked the Top 10 Vegetarian-Friendly Ballparks in the minor leagues, and Daniel S. Frawley Stadium, home of the Wilmington Blue Rocks, has made the list at fourth place.
"Daniel S. Frawley Stadium might host the minor leagues, but when it comes to the delicious health-, Earth-, and animal-friendly food offered at its concession stands, it's a major league player all the way," says PETA Associate Director Chris Holbein. "Even before the first pitch is thrown out, the Blue Rocks are a big winner in our book."
Leading off the lineup at Frawley Stadium are the veggie hot dogs and vegan burgers. Batting cleanup are the ziti marinara, vegan pasta salad, vegan coleslaw, and more.
Sliding into first place is Hammond Stadium, home of the Fort Myers Miracle, which serves vegetarian tacos, a vegan cheeseburger, and more. Coming in a close second is Frontier Field, home of New York's Rochester Red Wings, whose vegetarian specialties include vegan pizza, veggie dogs and veggie burgers. Rounding out the top five minor league ballparks are the Durham Bulls Athletic Park and the Tulsa Drillers' ONEOK Field. Finishing in first place in the major leagues is the Philadelphia Phillies' Citizens Bank Park, whose barbecue veggie "Pit Beef," vegan chicken-steak, and faux-chicken patty sandwich put the Phils over the top for the fifth time in the past six years.
